FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ABOUT =DREAMS
-
=DREAMS began its journey in January 2023, welcoming its first cohort of scholars. As a new agency, we’re gradually expanding to reach full-term capacity, ensuring that we can provide support to children across all six Pre-Tertiary academic levels.
-
The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) plays a supportive role by having a representative member on our Board and supporting the tenancy for =DREAMS at 99 Haig Road. While =DREAMS is a registered charity and Institution of a Public Character (IPC), it does not require additional licensing. MSF recognizes the value of our model in providing holistic support to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
MEETING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Absolutely. Children who are on the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (MOE FAS) are eligible to join =DREAMS, even if they live in purchased flats. Our goal is to support children who need it most, regardless of their housing situation.
-
No, once awarded, the scholarship remains with the child even if the family's financial situation improves. This approach ensures that the child continues to receive the support they need to succeed academically and personally.

-
Typically, we accept only one applicant per household to ensure equitable distribution of resources. However, exceptions can be made depending on the specific circumstances of the family.
SCHOLARSHIP AND FINANCE
-
No, =DREAMS is fully sponsored, meaning there are no costs to the families. This includes accommodation, meals (breakfast, dinner, pantry), WiFi, academic and enrichment activities. However, to retain the scholarship, scholars must meet certain conditions, such as passing each academic year.
Pocket money, lunch and transport allowance will continue to be provided by families.
-
Scholars must pass their academic year and adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Scholar Handbook. We understand that life can be unpredictable, so exceptions may be made for unique situations, but the general expectation is consistent participation and grade promotion.
